iNSIGHT to Action. Action to iMPACT

From climate shocks to gender injustice— we don’t just study problems. We build better outcomes.

In South Sudan, women journalists working with OUTCOME, in a joint project with FIDA, with funding from UNESCO/GMDF, are learning to use secure communications channels to slash gender-based violence affecting the female journalists— and contribute to sparking policy reforms.

Why We’re Here

To ground bold ideas in real-world data such as the Early Warning System co-designed by South Sudanese women journalists)

  • To spotlight frontline innovation (think solar grids built by women in refugee camps)
  • To move from awareness to action (like the early warning and monitoring mechanism to fight GBV against journalists)
  • To make systems work for those often left out

how we work

Power-shifting Partnerships

We don’t just consult communities — we transfer ownership. In South Sudan, women journalists led, or were consulted, every step of our Early Warning System.

Grassroots innovation grants: Youth collectives crowdsourced a threat-reporting app.

Evidence-based strategy: Mapped 4 GBV hotspots using geospatial data and survivor surveys.

Accountable storytelling: Survivor-led drama like The Firewood Walk merges GIS maps with testimonies, sparking local debates.
